• Langdons has increased the value of its contract with Maryland Farms, distributing its bacon and pork products, by 2150,000 to a yearly £350,000, The increased contract comes as Maryland Farms sells off its own four 17-tonne trucks as part of a company review.
• Leicester-based Cossington Commercial Vehicles has taken over the maintenance and running of Fresha Bakeries' 35-vehicle fleet at Thurmaston. The takeover of the workshop has meant the transfer of six staff to the Cossington payroll.
• Beck & Pollitzer has been awarded the national distribution contracts for Williams Holdings' Polycell Products, Cup' HQ arid Swish subsidiaries. The combined value of the contracts is more than E3m. Seven vehicles will make about 600 deliveries a week for Cuprinol, five vehicles will make the 24,000 deliveries a year for Polycell, and a dedicated fleet of 11 liveried vehicles will operate the Swish contract.
