• Scania's Series 3 truck range has been voted the 1989 Truck of the Year by a panel of 13 commercial vehicle editors, drawn from road transport magazines throughout Europe. The Scania Series 3 beat, among others, the latest Mercedes-Benz SK range, MAN's M90 middleweights and the Volvo F16.
According to the chairman of the International Truck of the Year organisation, the Scania Series 3 "is built on a foundation of fundamentallyrationalised model groups, augmented by spectacular new interiors, courageous use of electronics and practical employment of new materials, all culminating in trucks which are matched to operators needs".
