Pick of the week has Simpson (on the left) saying "ERF, Seddon Atkinson and Foden fit it. We now offer it in the Roadtrain." Leyland Daf marketing boss Phillips (pointing his finger from the right) replies: "Yes, Steyr, MAN and Iveco Ford fit it, so why the hell isn't it in the 95 Series yet?" This scurrilous entry to an otherwise gentlemanly competition flew into the Hawk's nest this week with a compliment slip from Eaton's Worsley transmission division in Manchester.

The anonymous author has merely drawn a picture of "The Saint" on the entry. Searching inquiries, however, have revealed that no-one could be so cruel or so witty at Eaton. My spies tell me that Spicer penned the caption.
