Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• More than 500 drivers and conductors staged a 24-hour strike at London Buses' largest depot last Thursday in protest at the company's long-term sickness procedure.

The Transport and General Workers Union says the workers walked out of the Ashgrove Garage in Hackney because of "abuse of the sickness procedure". Many drivers and conductors at the depot feel pressurised to return to work before they are completely fit, claims the union.

London Buses says Tom Young, the general manager of the London Forest district, which is in charge of the garage, will meet union officials this week to discuss the problem. "We judge each individual in the long-term sickness procedure," it says. "However, we must keep a balance between the need to run a service and long-term sickness."
