RENAULT is establishing a new company, Renault Coaches and Buses, to market its FR1 coach range in Britain. It will be headed by Nick Buckley and is a subsidiary of Renault Vehicules lndustriels of France.
Mr Buckley, who was previously marketing director of Renault Truck Industries, has already taken up his new appointment and his initial task is setting up a UK dealer network.
It is expected that the FR1 underframe will be available for independent bodybuilders towards the end of this year. No date has been announced for the introduction of a complete UK specification FR1 integral coach, although Renault has confirmed this is its eventual aim.
