THIS YEAR'S Haulage Association's annual dinner is on April 24 and the principal speaker will be Energy Secretary Peter Walker.
The dinner regularly attracts around 1,000 members and guests and this year is being held as usual, at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
• Tipcon 85, the 18th tipper convention organised by the RHA, will be held once again at Harrogate from May 3-5.
The business sessions will be at the Majestic Hotel where technical aspects of tipper operation, vehicle and trailer engineering, and suspension and tyres will be discussed.
Other sessions will deal with topics such as the Government's phasing out of capital allowances.
Former Engineering Union leader Lord Scanlon, member of the National Economic Development Council, will be the speaker at the business lunch on Friday, May 3.

• Booking forms will be available from April for the RHA's annual conference in the third week of October. It will be held at the Montechoro Hotel in the Algarve, Portugal.
