THE NEED to grease fifth-wheel plates is obviated by a new product called the Lube Liner and marketed in the UK by Doughty Trailer Sales of 80 Cranleigh Road, Southbourne, Bournemouth.
It consists of an 813mm (32in) diameter polyethylene disc which fits over the kingpin of a semi-trailer and acts as a lubricant. A further benefit of the Lube Liner is to cut out fifth-wheel scoring. Priced at £29.00 plus VAT, the Lube Liner is delivered free of charge to any premises on the UK mainland.
