DIESEL version of the Daihatsu 4 x 4 has been introduced to le UK. It has a 2,530cc (154cuin) capacity engine with eleconic fuel injection which produces 46kW (62bhp) at 3,500rpm. Fuel economy is about 81it/100km (35mpg) says the UK -porter, TKM Vehicles Services (UK) Ltd.
Transmission is via a four-speed gearbox with both high and w ranges.
TKM expects to import more Daihatsu and Jeep "golywhere" vehicles during 1979.
Jeep captured 25 per cent of the top end of the 4x4 market iring 1978 in the UK. In addition to the regular Jeep Cherokee odels, TKM is importing both the Honcho, a de-luxe 4x4 ck-up, and the J20, a more mundane workhorse.
At the moment the company has 65 dealers but these are :pected to number around 80 by April.
