New groupage depot

R. F. INTERPORT Movements of Leigh, Lancashire has expanded its cargo groupage service operating to Belgium, Holland, France and West Germany.

A new depot has been opened at Crayford, Kent, which runs a twice-weekly groupage service to and from these countries.

F7 on the road

THE FIRST full production Volvo F7 eight-wheeler was recently completed and handed over at the assembly plant in Irvine, Scotland.

The vehicle was handed over to Gerteens of Houghton-Le-Spring, Tyne and Wear, by local Volvo distributor Tait of Darlington. This short-cab F7 is part of a 26-strong tipping fleet used on construction projects.

New BR company BRITISH Rail's shipping and harbour assets have been transferred to a newly created company called Sealink UK.

The company, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the British Railways Board, is responsible for operating the Sealink ferry routes and British Rail's harbour interests.

Created on January 1, it has already been set a financial target to achieve a real return of five per cent on its fixed assets by 1982.

Deutz dealers

MAGIRUS Deutz has announced a new dealer network for its on/off highway vehicles.

Its agreement with Blackwood Hodge has ended and Magirus Deutz has appointed four new dealers with 31 depots to distribute and service its range of construction and earthmoving vehicles.

The dealers chosen already handle other equipment used in the construction industry.
