IT TOOK a West Midlands haulier less than a fortnight to adapt a vehicle to suit a recently won contract.
MPW Transport of Dudley had just taken delivery of a new 16-ton-gross Fiat 159 with a fiat body, for a furniture delivery contract placed with the company by Landscape Furniture.
This necessitated replacing the flat body with a box. Local Fiat main dealer, Carmichael Trucks, did the conversion, including building the box from a Cargo Van kit, in under a fortnight.
MPW are using the vehicle for long-distance furniture deliveries and the Fiat cab has been equipped with a sleeper conversion for overnights.
