The H. Clarkson Freight Group (the freight division of Shipping Industrial Holdings) has been reorganized to include the Cyprien Fox Group of Companies, and Alltransport Packing and Removals. A. R. Dixon, who has been appointed managing director of Cyprien Fox, and J. B. Revell, who is the managing director of Al!transport Packing and Removals, have both joined the board of the H. Clarkson Freight Group. D. R. Hicks has also joined the board of Cyprien Fox as finance and administration director.

R. T. Davis has been appointed Tottenham branch manager, BRS Parcels Ltd. He was previously air freight manager, London Airport branch.

F. F. R. (Bob) Clarke,45, has been appointed Mercedes-Benz (Great Britain) Ltd general manager, operation, commercial products division. Mr Clarke began his cv career with Ford, moving to British Leyland where he was deputy director of product planning and product operations. His first assignment is to set up a new distribution complex based on Newmillerdam, near Wakefield, Yorks.

Robert Donald has been appointed head of the transport fleets division of the Milk Marketing Board, Mr Donald joined the Board in 1959 and moved to transport fleets division two years ago after serving in the financedivision.

E. H. Gibson, general service manager of Fodens Ltd, left on Monday for a six-week tour of overseas depots and agents including those at Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand. Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain and Greece. A. Pierpoint, joint asst service manager, is deputizing in Mr Gibson's absence. W. Thompson, 53, has been appointed principal administrative and technical assistant in the department of the chief mechanical engineer, London Transport.

Peter Frier, who has spent six years with Mercedes-Benz, first as a service engineer on pay, and latterly as sales engineer, has joined Willowbrook Ltd and after training at Loughborough will work mainly in the South of England. T. W. ("Bill") Turner is also joining Willowbrook as a coach specialist and will cover Scotland.

David W. Mansell has been appointed md of a new company (see page 16) formed by DAF to market sales of its trucks in the UK.

John Knox, 48, a consultant with P&O Freight Forwarders, has now been appointed marketing manager and also a director of one of its French companies, SCM FrancoBrittanique. He will unify internationally P&O's land, sea and air forwarding services, especially throughout the EEC. His previous posts include that of BOAC deputy general manager — marketing.

Trevor Wetherell, 42, has been appointed industrial sales executive of the Specialist Vehicle Division of Hestair Ltd, which comprises Yorkshire Vehicles Ltd, and Dennis Brothers Ltd. Mr Wetherall was previously with Lucas Aerospace Ltd. Malcolm Norman, 39, becomes sales engineer for South Wales and the South West. Before joining the Division he was a sales engineer with Ingersoll-Rand Co Ltd.

Frank N. Wilkinson has been promoted Perkins Engines group director, licensee development, Mr Wilkinson has been with Perkins for 20 years and his posts have included group distributor development manager and V8 promotion project man ager. F. N. Wilkinson

J. T. Sharkey (Monarch Transport (Newcastle) Ltd) has been elected chairman.of the Newcastle upon Tyne area of the Transport Managers' Club; J. R. Johnson (Hoults Ltd) is treasurer: W. G. Lapham (Freightliners Ltd) secretary.

OBITUARIES

We record with regret the deaths of L. P. W. (Peter) Gomm, James McKnight, and Wilfred Sim.

Mr Gomm, 56, was public relations manager of Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co (Great Britain) Ltd. Previously, he had been editor for 14 years of the company's internal publications.

Mr McKnight, 67, was, until his retirement two years ago, general manager of Wigan Corporation Transport; he had worked for Wigan Corporation for more than 50 years.

Mr Sim had been general manager of W. Alexander and Sons (Fife) Ltd for about six years; previously he was traffic manager at Kirkcaldy.
