Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• John Griffin (Transport) Ltd, Frome, Somerset, has put into service the first Titan aluminium bulk feed tipper body to be built as a demountable by Tamplin Engineering Ltd, Birdham, Chichester, Sussex.

Of all-welded monocoque construction, it is 2511 long, 8ft 2in. wide and is mounted on a Scammell tandem-axle semi-trailer. A special feature is that it has tapered sides to allow for the slope of the artic and to enable a level load to be carried, the side height being 5ft Oin. at the rear and 5ft at the front of the body. Overall capacity is 1000 cu ft.

The unit has a one-piece tailboard with central grain hatch and control handle. It is the first Titan bulk vehicle to have single-ram Edbro 6 front-end tipping gear which is operated by a Tamplin Mk2 225gal power pack built on to the trailer sub-frame.

Another salient feature is an adjustable ridge pole which can be raised 16in. enabling lightweight spillboards to be fitted to increase the volume when carrying light wheat-feed materials.

Payload is 204 tons at 32 tons gross, drawn by Leyland Buffalos.
