• A basic reorganization of the marketing and trading structure of Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd, instituted on January 1, results in the formation of two new companies, Crane Fruehauf Ltd and Crane Fruehauf Service and Equipment Ltd.
The parent and holding company is named Crane Fruehauf Ltd, and consists of the main board, retaining overall responsibility for the operation of all subsidiary companies; it operates from the head office, Hayes Gate House, Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex.
The subsidiary operating companies now
consist of Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd — covering all UK and export trailer and semi-trailer design, production and sales — and Crane Fruehauf Services and Equipment Ltd, operating the service centres, Propar parts operation and incorporating Imperial Coachbuilders (Basildon) Ltd; Crane Fruehauf Containers Ltd, covering the main manufacture and marketing of containers of both ISO and non-standard dimensions; Rentco Nationwide Trailer Rentals Ltd and Crane Western Finance Ltd, providing a finance service for both hire purchase and leasing operations.
