T" cold spell certainly did not stop the Western Licensing Authority, Mr. S. W. Nelson, from getting on with the job at Bristol early last week. The adjourned case of Thornbury Transport, Ltd., who want to carry pet foods for Robert Wilson and Son of Scotland, was further adjourned: the applicant, although represented, was not in attendance, the solicitor for the road objectors was "frozen up " at Devizes, and the B.T.C. solicitor had been taken
In another case a representative of the Removers' Association phoned to say it was very difficult for the objectors to get through by road; but one objector attended and, when asked how he managed to make it, he replied: "Although a little late, British Railways got me here."
When the case of E. 1. Brain of Clutton was called (an application to add one vehicle on A licence) Mr. I. Jenkins, for the applicant, stated he had only just been handed the figures by his client, and as they were not in the usual form he applied for an adjournment.
