Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Truckcom is an Internet-based system that allows customers to track the position of their container as Containerlift moves it around the UK. It also provides electronic proof of delivery online because all the drivers carry PDAs. Walk-round checks can also be logged directly into the head office computer using their PDAs.

The internet-based system can be integrated with a customer's IT operations, which means that job information can be transferred easily and automatically.

The system was developed as a result of another conversation in a pub. Containerlift founder Doug Baker used to operate a paper-based traffic sheet. He then decided to try to switch that information to a Microsoft Excel document.

However, after a discussion with a software developer in a pub, the programme was rewritten in Microsoft Access. "After using that for about a year, the developer came to work for us. And we set up Truckcom as a separate company," Doug says.

"It's unique because it is built by a hauler, for haulers, and we are developing it in the working environment all the time,"
