in the fourth quarter as the recession affected demand for new vehicles. Sales in Europe dropped to SEK26bn (£2.1bn) in the past three months of 2008, but for the year as a whole they rose by 1% to SEK110bn (£9.1bn). Worldwide truck sales fell by 6% to SEK53.7bn (£4.5bn) in the fourth quarter, but rose by 8% to SEK203bn (£16.9bn) in the full year.
The Renault Truck dealer network is to start selling the Renault Trafic van. Following a similar deal between Renault and Renault Trucks covering the Renault Master van, the Trafic will be distributed through dealers in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Switzerland and Austria from June. Coverage is expected to be extended to other European countries at a later dale.
