• Fountain Forestry is using a Unimog U1450 to help clear trees, overhanging branches and other vegetation From Railtrack's railside areas dotted around the UK. With 4x4 traction and a rail guidance system, the Unimog can access almost any worksite. Once at the site the vehicle can use its PTO to operate a wide variety of cutting and clearing implements.
The Zweiweg rail travel gear, timber carrying body, Pa!finger PK5000 crane, front-mounted winch, portable
chipper and 7.0-tonne-load trailer were supplied by Outreach of Scotland. Fountain Forestry has now ordered a second, and more powerful, Unimog 1 6 5 0 — which will also be kitted out by Outreach.
