• The mention of yet another big US trailer manufacturer at the RAI show—Great Dane— shows how lucrative the European reefer market must appear to the Americans.
Last summer Wabash forged links with German trailer manufacturer Krone. and last month Utility and York Trailers agreed to co-build at Northallerton.
Now there is news of another alliance, with Tracon adding running gear to Great Dane reefer boxes for its agent, CLS.
In the US Great Dane makes about 7,000 units a year and, with rumours of being among the cheapest on the European market, CLS already has orders for 50 trailers even before its imminent launch in Tilburg.
