Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THREE tyre manufacturers have developed new additions to their ranges. These will be of direct interest to haulage operators who intend operating with the framework of the proposed maximum weights for heavy vehicles.

Dunlop UK tyre division's latest models have all been designated SP, the first in size, 15R22.5, is specifically for operators who are considering converting tandem axle trailers with twin tyres to tri-axle trailers equipped with single tyres.

Thesecond, size 315/70R22.5, is a low-profile tyre suitable for 16-ton rigid vehicles where the front-axle carrying capacity is 16.5 tonnes. It is designed to lower the platform height to assist local delivery operators who off-load from the rear.

Last of the three new tyres is size 315/80R22.5, a continental specification which is fitted principally to the Oaf 3300 tractive unit. Dunlop anticipates that such 80-Series tyres will eventually replace standard profiles in the 11R22.5 size.

Pirelli has developed a new range of low profile radial ply tyres for long-distance haulage. They incorporate its patented zero degree belt construction.

The new range is split into three groups with the first group being 315/70R 22.5; 315/75R 22.5, group two is 305/75R 24.5) 315/75R24.5; 295/80R24.5; and the third group is 15R22.5; 16.5R22.5; 14/80 D20.

Avon has also added two new sizes to its Steermaster range of truck tyres. They are the 12R22.5 tubeless and the 11.00R20 tubed.
