Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE FIRST tri-axle tipping trailer with parallel sides to be produced by Craven Tasker for 38 tonnes gcw is currently being evaluated by Newton Haulage.

With an increase in capacity from 32 to 38cum (42 to 50cu yd) the trailer permits a payload of 19.7 tonnes (19 tons) when coupled to one of Newton's Volvo F10 tractive units operating at the current Construction and Use weight limit.

The parallel-sided trailer was intended from the start as a triaxle in contrast to the tapered version shown at last year's Motor Show which was a tandem designed for future conversion.

The heavy-duty all-welded alloy body has an inside body length of 9.15m (30ft) and a height of 1.83m (6ft).

All the axles are fixed as Craven Tasker is not getting any requests for a steering third axle, presumably on grounds of cost.

An anti-roll bar is standard equipment on the rear axle ' which is partly for handling but mainly for increased stability during tipping.

Girling Skidchek is fitted to the braking system which is two-line EEC with the third line superimposed.

Orders for new Craven Tasker trailers are now in the proportion of 90 to 10 in favour of triaxles, the majority of which are to be fitted with wide single tyres.

Craven Tasker is increasingly finding that tipper operators are opting for Skidchek and monoleaf suspension.

In Craven Tasker's opinion, this is because of a lack of confidence in the reliability of multileaf springs and because there is not enough deflection in the springs to permit accurate load sensing.
