Could you tell me the rate of pay and basic hours of work including overtime, for this type of traffic?

A Statutory minimum wages in road haulage relate to the carrying capacity of the vehicle.

If you normally carry indivisible loads the basic rate of pay for a vehicle carrying over 10 and under 16 tons is £17 19s. This rate applies if loads require mechanical loading or unloading equipment operated by the driver.

If your vehicle is classified under the Motor Vehicle (Special Types) General Order 1969 with a carrying capacity of over 16 tons the basic rate would be £18 14s 6d.

Pay rates are for a basic 40-hour week. OvertIme is at the rate of time-and-a-half on weekdays and double-time on Sundays.

These rates are the minimum laid down by the Road Haulage Wages Council in its order RH94 obtainable from HMSO, High Holborn, London WC2, or the Department of Employment.
