Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AS 'part of a major administrative reorganization to provide for the further expansion Of A.A. membership, the Automobile Association has appointed Mr. G. J. Ryan to the newly created post of director of operations, with responsibility for the co-ordination of all A.A. services for members.

Mr: Ryan has been road manager, controller of road services, director of services arid deputy secretary of the Automobile Association.

The appointment foreshadows an accelerated programme of decentralization, to be completed by mid-1965, with the object of separating the direction of existing membership services from responsibilities involving policy, forward planning and administration.

The present A.A. membership of 3,400,000 is expected to double in the next 10 years.

The A.A. has also appointed Mr. R. H. Hayes as manager of a newly formed central London area headquaners of the A.A. which will be responsible for all member-services • within the central London area and will come into operation on February 1. Although housed in the Association's national headquarters building—Fanum House, Leicester Square—the central London unit will operate independently, like other A.A. area offices throughout the country. London A.A. members will be able to obtain service by. telephoning Whitehall 1200 as has been the casc.before.
