Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE 1965 edition of the 'Ilraders Road Transport Association's Yearbook is now available free to members, who can also Purchase eXtra, copies at 155. each. Additionally, for' the first time; this new edition is 'being offered to bona fide students of road transport at the same price. Otherwise the Yearbook is available to T.R.T.A. members only.

Compared with the previous issue this 1965 edition has been increased in size from 148 to 172 pages. New features deal with maintenance, legal summary, vehicle selection and road traffic signs. Existing sections have been enlarged and brought up to date so that this Yearbook becomes even more invaluable to busy ancillary transport managers and their staffs.

But growth brings attendant problems, particularly, of layout and indexing. In reference books Of this type, whatever the excellency of the content, this can be largely lost unless a logical system of content with a comprehensive and accurate index makes each and every item of information readily available. And in busy transport offices answers to queries invariably are wanted immediately,

After yearly additions to successive editions of such yearbooks the Opportunity should be taken periodically to review not only the overall coverage hut also the sequence of contents to. facilitate easy reference and so increase their

usefulness. .S.B.
