Welcome to Laurie Dealer's used truck of the week. Each week our man inside the used truck trade picks out a truck or trailer from CM's online classified list. This week it's an Iveco Stralis
This week's top used truck is a 2009-registered Iveco Stralis 6x2 tractor unit.
It is powered by the 10.3-litre Cursor 10 engine, which delivers 450hp and 2,100Nm torque.
The six-cylinder lump is a Euro-5 with the Reduced Pollution Certificate, and is fitted with a 12-speed ZF AS-Tronic automated transmission. The AS440S45TX/P, to give it its proper title, is on a 58-plate, has clocked 473,000km and will be sold with a fresh MoT. It comes with a full service.
Wider specification includes the Active Space cab with air-con, fridge, full electric package, sliding fifth wheel and an 8,000kg front axle. Stralis has come on in leaps and bounds and today is a viable truck
— it is solid and dependable, and has a strong dealer network. The Cursor 10 is recognised as one of the more frugal engines on the market. The cab is well thought out, and you can pick one up for a decent price.
