Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Isee from a recent issue of CM (14-20 Nov) that yet another driver has been acquitted on drugs charges after spending months (in this case eight months) in prison.

We always seem to be moaning about foreign countries doing this sort of thing, but this case was in Britain and the acquittal given at Canterbury Crown Court.

This is all well and good, but what about some sort of compensation? This driver and others like him (it's not the first case and it's unlikely to be the last) lose contracts, don't earn for months, have their good name besmirched and then are sent on their way without so much as a penny.

Several questions need to be answered. Why can a system of compensation not be set up ? And why are so many innocent drivers being charged ?

What has happened to the British sense of fair play? Simon Etherington, Middlesbrough.
