• Up to 80 drivers jobs (mid be created by Eddie Stobart after the Carlisle-based firm bought the former Volvo Bus plant in Cumbria in a deal worth more than Lim.
The 50-acre site at Lillyhall Industrial Estate, near Workington, which has been empty since 1992, will service Stobart's contracts in West Cumbria. Stobart recently signed a Lim deal with Smiths medical group.
The new site will enable the company to double the size of its operations in the region over the next three years; 80 vehicles are currently based at its Carlisle depot.
Stobart intends to rent out much of the site for warehousing—it is already close to securing a deal with mail order company Historical Collections.
