• Claims by a freight forwarders' body that its membership criteria are tougher than the Road Haulage Association's shows "ignorance of the legislation which controls hauliers", says the RHA.
The British International Freight Association last week compared its rules with the RHA's, "where you pay your fees and you're in".
The RHA says that many would-be operators are refused entry to the profession.
It stresses that it is currently opposing John Dee's 0-licence bid.
