IN A BID to gain a bigger slice of the British market Saviem announce this week that it will launch a reorganised marketing and service arrangement from January 1.
The French truck maker is to establish a wholly owned British subsidiary, Saviem UK Ltd, based in Manchester. Its present sole UK concessionnaire, Nickerson Commercial Vehicles, will become distribu tor for Yorkshire, Humberside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
Saviem UK Ltd will sell direct to Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester and through the 20strong existing distribution and service network throughout the rest of the country. Next year Saviem's Club of Four vehicle is due to join its heavies in Britain.
