Certainly, if you are contemplating using the vehicle for trips to the Continent, it will have to be fitted with a tachograph which the crew members—driver and, if applicable, cc-driver—will have to use while on the Continent to keep the requisite records. The position is not yet clear about the Unied Kingdom and much depends on the approach by the Minister for Transport to the EEC Commission. However, if you do not fit a tacho the vehicle will not be acceptable on the Continent if you wish to go there at a later date
