A SLEEPER-CAB version of the Mercedes-Benz 1626S tractive unit will be available on the UK market early in 1976. Two models from the New Generation range are already available for this market: a shortcab 1626S on a 3.0m (9ft 10in) wheelbase, and a 3.8m (12ft 6in) wheelbase sleeper-cab 1632S. The former is powered by the 191kW (256bhp) V8 engine while the 1632 has a 237kW (320bhp) VIO power unit. The 1626 sleeper is similar to that on the heavier truck Incorporating two full-width bunks.
