• A new version of the Leyland Super Comet tractive unit has been introduced. Designated 16SCT /20A, the machine replaces the 16SCT /10R and is capable of operation at 24 tons g.c.w. when coupled to single axle semi-trailer.

The machine is basically similar to the earlier version but there are a number of design changes, which are: heavy-duty frame of 10in. x 3m. x 0.3125in. section; 10-ton capacity rear springs; Girling brakes on front axle; 3B 7.0in. x 20in.
