Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Random estimates of the earnings of taxi-drivers are reappearing in the Daily Press. They show great variations between alleged net earnings for the men, and we should say they are generally unreliable.

Rescuing the Associated.

The directors of the Associated Omnibus Co., Ltd., must be shaking hands with themselves upon the terms which they have been able to arrange with the London General Omnibus Co., Ltd. Friendship counts for a lot sometimes.

National Cabs Make a Profit.

The National Motor Cab Co., Ltd., for the year ended 31st July last, shows a trading profit of 131,577. Depreciation absorbs 216,856, and there remains, after providing for debenture interest and all other charges, a net profit of 27658. A dividend at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum is to be paid. We congratulate Messrs. Greathed and Esse.

Owner-Drivers and a Strike.

The statements made in different quarters that owner-drivers would help the men in the case of a strike of taxi-drivers taking place in the New Year, are, to a large extent, untrue. Some few owner-drivers still belong to the London Cabdriver's Trade Union, but these, on the whole, have remained in the union chiefly in anticipation of the annual share out of funds which takes place at the end of each year.

A single decked " 13-type" for the Blackwall Tunnel.

A correspondent writes to ask if we. can tell him where there is an opening for the running of a number of taxi!:abs in a provincial town. We shall be pleased to hand on any information in this respect. A Daimler in Blackpool.

A report to hand from a correspondent at Blackpool intimates that the recent demonstrations in this popular Lancashire resort, with a Daimler motorbus, gave very great satisfaction to all who participated.

The B.M C. Co.'s Sick Fund.

The sick club founded and carried on by the drivers of the British Motor Cab Co., Ltd., with the assistance and approval of the management, has now a membership of over 300. To ensure the payment of the weekly subscription of 6d., this sum is charged on each inz:mber's waybill every Tuesday. , Raising the Wind.

. The London Cabdrivers' Union is preparing to issue tickets for a Special Fighting Fund, the proceeds from the sale of which will go to swell the union funds. Members are urged to " prepare for the worst in January next." Manifestos, which are becoming increasingly common, are jointly signed by the president and general secretary of the union.

Argyll Enterprise.

Co-partnership Motor Cabs,. Ltd., has entered into an agreement for the supply of a fleet of Argyll cabs. The first two vehicles have already been delivered. Garage arrangements for the housing and maintenance of the cabs have been made with the New Park Motor Cab Co., Ltd., which concern itself owns 50 Argyll cabs. Argyils, Ltd., is building up a good business in supplying its cabs to co-operative companies and to owners of small fleets.
