HE Mercedes-Benz 1619S, fficially announced in last eek's issue, has already been test with CM over the cottish route.
Over the motorway sec. ions, a fuel consumption of 5.3 lit/100km (8.0mpg) was turned even though the unit as fitted with the relatively all V6 OM 401 engine reducing 155kW (196bhp). Running at just under the vw of 32 tons the vehicle rformed well in many res ts, but the hydraulic acsated full air brake system eked the bite needed to cope pith emergency situations.
