Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SUBARU, sixth largest car manufacturer in Japan, is to market a four-wheel-drive estate car in the UK. But there are no plans for bringing in any commercial vehicles. . . so far.

A subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries, Subaru has a range of light vans, but as a company spokesman said: "There is no intention of marketing them in the UK in the near future — it has not even been discussed."

The Subaru 1600 fwd estate car would, however, seem to form an excellent basis for a pick-up truck, so it will be interesting to see how long this 'cars only' policy persists in view of the high sales enjoyed by some of its Japanese competitors in the light van and pick-up sector.
