After 20 years as managing director of AB Svenska Godscentraler, Axel R. Camitz recently resigned. Arne Sjoberg, financial manager of the Swedish State Railways, has been appointed to succeed him. Mr. Camitz will continue, however, to work for the development of ASG, as he has taken up the post of vice-chairman of the board of directors. Frank Harpham has been appointed a director of W. Smith (Haulage) Ltd., Leicester. He has been company secretary for the past seven years.

A. F. Ferguson has been appointed a director of Corrall and Associated Companies Ltd., part of the Powell Duffryn Group. Among other directorships he holds is one with Harnworthy Engineering Ltd., also a Powell Duffryn company.

J. W. Holt has been appointed district manager (Wrexham) of Firestone Tyre and Rubber Co. Ltd. He joined the company in 1958 as a sales representative.

Following its recent establishment as distributor for the International Loadstar trucks, R. Cripps and Co. has appointed new personnel. N. E. Brown becomes dealer sales manager for the company's entire sales area, R. Bolide area sales manager, covering Notts, Derhys and Leicestershire, and J. E. Board area sales manager, Gloucestershire and Somerset.

Derek Marsh has been appointed sales director of Boden Trailers Ltd. Formerly company secretary, Mr. Marsh joined Boden in 1964 from Turner and Newall Ltd.

Don Vincent has been appointed general manager of the new commercial showrooms of John Willment (Twickenham) Ltd., commercial vehicle division. Two Nottingham High School boys, Geoffrey Meeks and Hugh Wheater, have been awarded a scholarship by the Nottingham Chamber of Commerce and have chosen to study road haulage in Northern Europe. Eventually they hope to make a career in road transport.

John A. Cooper has been appointed regiona service supervisor (south) of India Tyres Ltd. ir succession to E. .1. Serafton, who becomeE service manager. Mr. Cooper will cover Londor and the south of England. He joined Indi Tyres in 1953.

John C. Madigan has been appointed managing director of Uniroyal Ltd., British subsidiar! of United States Rubber Co.

Peter M. Fisher has been appointed a directo of the Avon Rubber Co. Ltd. He will continui as the general manager of the company' industrial rubber products unit.

Obituary

We regret to record the deaths of Mr. W. A Birks and Mr. C. Bottomley.

Mr. Birks, 75, pioneered a regular road passenger service between Huddersfield am Wakefield and at one time owned several coache.

Mr. Bottomley was co-founder of the Bradfor4 firm of Denholm and Bottomley, started in 191' by himself and his brother-in-law, Mr. H Denholm.
