MR. ROLLO WATERHOUSE has been appointed publicity manager of the motorcar ,division of Rolls-Royce, Ltd.
MR. JAMES ARRIES, cleansing superintendent and transport manager of Bedling ion Urban District Council for 25 years, has retired.
MR. T. 0. HUNT, technical and works director of Specialloid, Ltd., and Aero Piston Ring Co., Ltd., will become managing director on November 1. On that date MR. R. H. HAINSWORTH, the present managing director, will join the Brush Group.
ALE/. FRANK MANSELL, mayor of Wolverhampton and convenor of shop stewards at Guy Motors, Ltd., has gone to Moscow at the invitation of the Lord Mayor of Moscow. Aid. Mansell hopes to invite a Russian civic delegation to visit Wolverhampton, MR. 0, E. SMITH, chief sales engineer of Whitlock Bros., Ltd., will leave, for a two-month tour of Africa at the end of next month. He will demonstrate the Dinkum Digger, a tractor-mounted hydraulic excavator and trencher, and appoint new agents.
SIR LYNDEN MACASSEY, president of the Institute of Transport from 1924-25; has accepted election as an honorary member of the Institute. Honorary membership is conferred exceptionally by the council in recognition of conspicuous services. There are at present five other honorary members.
MR. G. A. E. GODSAVE has been appointed to the manufacturers' sales division of Simms Motor Units, Ltd. He was formerly with the National Gas Turbine Establishment. MR. I. E. CHADBUND has become manager of the company's engineering division, assisting MR. H. G. DUNN, chief engineer.
MR. P. A. CHAMBERS has been appointed works superintendent of Dowding and Mills, Ltd. His former post of north-east London technical representative has been taken over by MR. V. H. DEVIS, previously chief inspector of Brownings Electric Co., Ltd. MR. D. A. W. CLARK has become technical representative in the south London area.
MR. R, A. FEARNLEY has been • nominated for election as vice-president of the Municipal Passenger Transport Association. ALD. E. N. SELBY is no longer eligible for the post because of' changes in the composition of Southend Transport Committee. Mr. Fearnley, general manager at Coventry for over 22 years, was previously general• manager at Southend.

MR, B. L. BRAITHWALTE, formerly general manager of Scarnmell Lorries, Ltd., has joined the board. As sales director, he will be responsible for sales, spares and service departments.
MR. W. L. DRUMMOND, general sales manager of Guy Motors, Ltd., is making a two-month fact-finding tour of Australia, New Zealand and Far Eastern markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Ceylon, visiting distributors, agents and users of Guy vehicles.
MR. L. J. CuRrts, previously manager of the Bournemouth branch of Brown Brothers, Ltd., has taken up an appointment at head office in connection with the company's interests in garage equipment. MR. A. S. REN WICK, manager of the Stoke-on-Trent branch since 1938, has succeeded Mr. Curtis at Bournemouth and is in turn replaced by MR. S. I. HILLIER, assistant manager at Wolverhampton.
MR. W. HILTON, purchasing officer of the London Transport Executive, retires tomorrow after 50 years'. service with the Executive and their predecessors.He has been a representative on a subcommittee dealing with the standardization of stores among the constituents of the British Transport Commission. MR. R. L. P. C()RB, Mr. Hilton's senior assistant since 1954, has been appointed purchasing officer. He joined London Transport in 1952. .
NEW B.M.C. CONCERN
A SUBSIDIARY of the British Motor ri Corporation has been formed to co-ordinate all service operations within the group and bring them under central control. Known as B.M.C. Service, Ltd., the new company will not affect the policy of servicing vehicles through distributors and dealers.
A new central parts depot has been built at Cowley from which parts for all B.M.C. models will be issued.
