pR ICES of Austin commercial chassis have been increased by £20, and of complete vans by £30. The 16 h.p. taxicab chassis and hire car and the Welfarer ambulance are unaffected by these changes. Export prices also remain unchanged, except in such markets as the U.S.A.. Finland and New Zealand.
The new prices of A40 models are as follows: Van and pick-up in primer £365 van and pick-up in colour £375. A70 pick-up in colour £480. Twenty five-cwt. models: chassis 'f438, chassis and open-back cab £495, chassis and enclosed cab £505, van £645. Longwheelbase 2-tonners: platform lorry £510, drop-sided lorry 1515, chassis /415, chassis and cab £458. Longwheelbase 5-tonnets: platform lorry £618, drop-sided lorry £628, chassis £508, chassis and cab £550. Five-ton coach chassis £535. Short-wheelbase 5-tonners: hydraulic tipper £650, chassis £495, chassis and cab £535.
During the 43rd financial year of" the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., a record output of 126,685 vehicles was set up. This figure represents an increase of 48 per cent. over that for the previous year. Export sales also constituted a record, with a high proportion in hard-currency markets.
Changes have been made among higher executives of the Austin Motor Export Corporation, Ltd.. and the new board is as follows: Mr. L. P. Lord, chairman; Col. Arthur C. R. Waite, M.C„ deputy-chairman; Mr. S. F. Bramley, managing director; Mr. A. 0. Tookey, director and general manager; Mr. K. R. Hougham, director and sales manager; Mr. J. W. Bache, assistant manager, general; Mr. H. Thompson, assistant manager, finance; Mr. Clive Williams, in charge of market research.
Since the end of the war Mr. Bramley has been advertising manager, of the Austin Motor Co., Ltd., and of its subsidiary companies. He will Continue to supervise Austin advertising. Mr Hougham was formerly assistant sales manager.
