Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A Bedford solicitor is appealing for information on injuries involving rave hooks on trailers following an incident in which a driver lost the sight in one eye.

Simon Parrott from Borneo Linnells is representing a driver who had the accident when unloading a curtain-sided trailer in March last year.

It is understood that the load of metal stillages had shifted so that they were leaning against the side of the trailer. When the driver undid the curtain he was struck in the face by the rave hook (the clip that holds the curtain in place). As a result of this injury, the driver has been forced to leave his job after 30 years in the industry.

The driver's employer and its insurer both deny responsibility, arguing that it was not "foreseeable" that the rave hook could have flown out in that way.

But Parrott says he has heard of similar incidents taking place and urges drivers and warehouse staff to contact him if they have relevant experiences. He promises that these will be treated in confidence. Contact: 01234 3563221; e-mail, mail®borneolinnells.co.uk.
