Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

you published in the 29 March4 April issue headed 'Noise Pollution' from R F Bond of Bridgnorth.

We at HYVA recognised this problem several years ago, and initially introduced a device called the 'POLYP BODY SILENCER' which helped to reduce these noises, but required frequent servicing to give a reasonable life span.

Five years ago, HYVA introduced the 'HYFIX BODY CLAMP' which has been a complete success in dampening the 'boom' off empty bodies.

The unit comes in two parts: a locking bar (steel or aluminium) which welds to the underside of the body, and the clamp itself, which is located on the chassis. The clamp works on an over-centre principle, and is spring-loaded by a heavy rubber block. Grease nipples are provided at the two hinge points and servicing is thus in-line with the truck schedule.

Several 'pressure groups' have contacted me in the past, and where hauliers have fitted the HYFIX it has relieved their environmental problems. The HYFIX retails at about £250, which is a relatively small price to pay to become 'Green and friendly'.
