MANY FIRMS face a rates bill increase of around 100% this month and the Inland Revenue is expecting one million appeals.
Premises were last valued in 1973, but the new rate is based on their rental value in April 1990 multiplied by a new set national poundage.
Now Lloyds Bank and Black Horse Commercial have teamed up to offer help and advice. No fee is charged for preliminary advice; if a decision is made to proceed with an appeal, a registration fee of E100 is payable; fees are negotiated individually, with a minimum of E350 for each property.
