• Keighleybased Transmart Delivery Services has withdrawn an application to renew its licence, and consideration of disciplinary action against the company by North Eastern Deputy Licensing Authority H Anthony Richardson, has been aborted.

The company, of Gresley Road Industrial Estate, Keighley, had applied for renewal in respect of six vehicles and two trailers. In December 1988

Transmart was granted a licence for four vehicles and two trailers for a 12-month period only, after admitting operating without a licence for 12 months (CM 5-11 January 1989).

Transmart failed to appear at a public inquiry in Leeds, and Richardson said that a recorded delivery letter had been received from the company which stated that it wished to withdraw its renewal application because it was ceasing to be a UK haulage firm with effect from the end of March.
