Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Royal Mail Parcelforce is to spend £13m on a new Liverpool distribution centre on the former Containerbase site at Aintree, replacing the citycentre depot at Hatton Garden.

The move forms part of Parcelforce's 280m plan to upgrade its distribution centres.

Nearly 25m will be spent on computer-controlled parcelsorting machinery to handle up to 20,000 parcels an hour. Most of the 200 staff at Hatton Garden are expected to transfer to Aintree, and 80 new jobs will be created to handle local deliveries.

A fleet of 50 Leyland Daf Roadtrain 1730 sleeper-cab tractive units will be based there, alongside 40 Leyland Daf 400 Series vans for deliveries. The centre will also include Parcelforce's international distribution centre and district administration offices. It is due for completion within two-and-a-half years.

High-roof versions of the Leyland Daf 400 Series van, fitted out to Royal Mail specification, will be based at the new Parcelforce distribution centre at Aintree, Liverpool. LI TNT's German subsidiary is opening eight depots and two hubs in East Germany as preparation for its forthcoming 24-hour service in the GDR.
