• Leyland Daf has begun a major re-structuring of its sales and marketing division at Thame in Oxfordshire, which includes the recruitment oi David Gill from Iveco Ford.
A management team of three directors has been formed to report to Roger Phillips, managing director, Leyland Daf marketing and sales.
David Gill, as director of commercial operations will be responsible for the company's sales, service, parts sales and dealer management.
He joined Leyland Daf from Iveco Ford, where he had been marketing director since 1986, and recently became responsible for Iveco North Europe.
Also on the team are Cliff Grant, the director of audit and control; and Ian Jones, the director of market and business planning.
Phillips says the changes are keeping pace with "unprecedented activity in the marketplace", and stresses that they are "no reflection on the current team at Thame, all of whose roles and responsibilities continue unchanged".
Nick Blachford, who recently became marketing director at Iveco Ford, has taken over David Gill's responsibilities of managing northern Europe.
Further re-structuring is expected at Leyland Daf in the next few weeks.
