• Wilson Double-Deck Trailers has added a dual-purpose tanker/general-cargo trailer and a belly-load trailer to its range.
Roofing products maker Hambleside Manufacturing has taken delivery of the first curtainsider/tanker, which allows it to carry its relatively fragile product on two decks, increasing payload by 60%, and to carry 18,000 litres of resin as a return load.
Craigavon, Northern Irelandbased Wilson has also developed a belly-load trailer which provides an extra 20m3 of load space beneath the flat floor. Associate company FG Wilson Engineering, makers of diesel generating sets, has ordered 10 belly loaders to carry engines from Perkins, Peterborough, to Belfast and to deliver throughout Europe.
Cost of the double-deck curtainsider/tanker is around 230,000, and the belly load trailer costs about £20,000, says Wilson.
