• Every week more cases of wheel loss affecting operators who pride themselves on their maintenance standards come into the Commercial Motor office.
The Automobile Association has been found guilty of using a trailer with dangerous parts after it shed a pair of wheels on the M3. A car behind swerved into the crash barrier to avoid the runaway wheels.
"You cannot be complacent," says AA engineering manager John Durham. "Maintenance is crucial and it will reduce the likelihood of wheel loss."
