• A joint operation between Lancashire police and Department of Transport traffic and vehicle examiners uncovered 100 mechanical defects in a 54-vehicle check on the M6.
A total of 21 prohibition notices were issued and several drivers were reported for tachograph offences, falsification of records, driver's hours offences, using unlicensed vehicles, operating without a valid Operator's Licence, and overloading.
