Quay Handling Ltd. is to market low-cost container handling equipment. One system, based on stillages, elevating trailers and a simple transfer gantry will be shown at the International Container Services and Equipment Exhibition at Olympia, from May 27-31.
Quay Trailers Ltd. specializes on works and road trailers, including special-purpose trailers, with capacities up to 55 tons. Airfield Equipment Ltd. offers tractor and trailer equipment for airfield maintenance construction and operation.
Much equipment for the group companies will be made by Quay Industries Ltd. but the container handling gantry is being made under agreement by Herbert Morris Ltd., Loughborough.
• A series of one-day instruction courses on its range of waste disposal and materials handling equipment is being run at Cambrian Works, Maindy, Cardiff, by Powell Duffryn Engineering Co. Ltd. Under the direction of a qualified instructor, separate courses have been arranged for managers, foremen fitters and fitters. The success of these one-day courses has led to the planning of a new winter series starting in September, each course being devoted to a particular type of vehicle.
