• The new Minister of Transport, Mr. Richard Marsh, is to fulfil engagements to meet transport operators at meetings which had been arranged at the request of Mrs. Castle. She had asked to meet members of the RHA and TRTA to explain her policy and to answer questions about the Transport Bill. Now her successor, accompanied by Mr. Stephen Swinger, Secretary of State for Transport, will do this.
The first is an open meeting with the TRTA on April 22 at the London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane; the second will be at Church House, Westminster at 2.30 p.m. on April 25 when the RHA's national executive council, with further area and functional group representatives, will be present.
