Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RECENTLY issued British Standards include B.S. 3575 Rivets for the attachment of friction linings — and B.S. 3578 Dimensions of mounting pads for low-pressure mechanical lift pumps for i.c. engines. B.S. 3575 gives dimensions, materials and recommended hole sizes for brake shoe rivets. The standard provides for 12 sizes of rivets and includes a system of reference marking. B.S. 3578 has been prepared to assist engine and pump makers and users and specifies face dimensions, diameters and locations of tapped holes for two types of mounting pad.

Copies of either standard can be obtained from the BSI. Sales Branch, 2 Park Street, London, W.1, price 3s. each.
