As much as a load lining or cover may suit your individual needs, when it comes to selling on your pickup there are some issues worth considering if you want to get top whack.

According to George Alexander, commercial vehicle director at Glass's Guide, putting a highquality, stylish truck cover on a top-spec doublecab vehicle is a smart move, particularly in the current climate, and can add E1-2K to the value.

"After several years of increasing demand, the pickup market is starting to feel the pinch.

"And with so many examples available secondhand, only the most desirable will attract attention and they usually include a smart truck top."

He also advises that a good-quaky load lining is fitted to absorb the knocks and avoid the paint being scratched before resale.

"As premium pickups are bought for their image, an example with damaged paintwork in the load area will definitely be a negative. Spray linings do help protect but they don't project the right image for most potential buyers."

In fact, as double-cabs have suffered from oversupply there has been increased demand for single-cabs, which are more suited to spray linings, Alexander adds.

However, a word of caution for those looking to splash out on a bespoke arrangement, complete with optional teasmade.

"If you design your house in an individual style, don't expect potential buyers to come round in their droves to admire your work, and the same goes for the pickup market," advises Alexander.

"It's really best to keep things simple," he adds.
